Find and install your first WordPress plugin in less than 3 minutes! Ready? Set? Go….
Step One: Finding the Plugin You Want
Click on Add New under Plugins on your WP dashboard. Enter your search terms in the “Search Plugins” box. Type in “contact form.”
Step Two: Select & Install the Plugin
As of this writing (Jan. 2015) entering “contact form” in the search bar will net you over 1500 results. This is truly an amazing thing—you have over a thousand choices for a contact form to use on your blog! But…it’s also overwhelming. Don’t get too caught up in looking at them all. For this exercise we will select the first one on the list. Click “Install Now.” A popup will appear asking you to confirm that you want to install this plugin, click ok.
Step Three: Activate the Plugin
You will be redirected to the Plugin Activation screen. Click on “Activate Plugin.”
View Your Plugin on the Installed Plugins List
Click on “Installed Plugins” to see your complete list of both active and inactive plugins currently installed on your WordPress site or blog. Find your new plugin in the list. 
Plugins that have a “Settings” page can be accessed by clicking on it here. Enjoy using your newly installed plugin!
